We've been moving equipment into the building for awhile, but today was the official Martin Hall ribbon-cutting ceremony!
The building went from looking like this:
... to an eco-friendly, environment-integrated "treehouse" like this:
It still has that offgassing new-building smell of fresh plastic and paint. Each floor has a dominant color, and they correctly selected "green" for the one where my office sits.
This post's theme word is assart (n), "a tract of woodland cleared for cultivation". The rear footprint of the building forms an assort, restoratively cleared in order to make way for the saplings which will grant shade to the building several decades hence.
